Helen Hunter Obituary
of Greene
Helen M. Hunter, 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Valley View Manor Nursing Home, Norwich. She was predeceased by her husband, James W. Hunter on December 14, 1996; daughter, Marjorie Sleeper in 1989; and by three brothers and three sisters. Helen is survived by two sons, Robert and Charlotte Hunter, Orangeburg, S.C., Chuck Hunter and Diane Barron-Tyner; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Helen owned and operated Hunters Adult Care Home in Greene, from 1957 to 1998. She took care of over 63 people in her home over the years. She was a lifetime member and charter member of the Greene Garden Club. Helen was a member of First Congregational Church U.C.C. Greene since 1936.
Funeral and committal services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Root Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Whitman, Pastor of her church, officiating. Burial will be in Warn-Tenbroeck Cemetery, Brisben. Friends of the family may call Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Root Funeral Home, 23 North Chenango St., Greene, N.Y. 13778. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greene Emergency Squad, 6 North Canal St., Greene, N.Y. 13778.

I wanted to send my condolences to the Hunter family. I remember Mrs Hunter from when I was a little girl. I would go over to her house with my Aunt Carolyn and cousins Matt and Chad. She was a very sweet lady.
