Alvin Lee Jump, 71, of New Milford, Pa., passed away Saturday, July 26, 2008. He was the son of the late Harold A. and Alice V. June Jump. He is survived by the mother of his children, Nellie J. Curry; one son, James H. and Shana Jump, their children, James Alvin and Joseph D. Jump, and Dana Lee; three daughters, Janice L. Stewart, Janice's children, Shane P. and Theresa Nicholson, Bethany A. Newberry, David R. Duane III., Heather M. Taramelli, and Sabrina B. Donohue; daughter, Jennifer L. and Greg Stewart, their children, Scott James Johnson, Tiffany L. Johnson, Sierra J. Stewart, Kristen L. Stewart, Brian D. Moser, and Nathaniel M. Stewart; daughter, Julie and Jason Maskaly, their children, Nicholas L. Maskaly and Jocelyn H. Maskaly; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas Shires, Jazmyn Miller, Octavious Nicholson, and Savannah Duane; a brother, Norman H. and Rita Jump; a sister, Sharon H. Jump and Dennis Cicak; and several nieces and nephews. Alvin proudly served his country with the Untied States Navy during the Korean Conflict and the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was employed as a truck driver. He was a longtime employee of Bud Lawrence Hay and Straw and then Triple R Trucking.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 31, 2008, at the First Baptist Church, New Milford, Pa., with Pastor David Riley officiating. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-7 p.m., at the church, prior to the service.
