Joseph J. Morrell
of Johnson City
Joseph J. Morrell, 95, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 9, 2008, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife, Sophie (Piech) Morrell; daughter, Jo-Ann Morrell; a son, Timothy J. Morrell; and granddaughter, Samantha Christine Morrell. He is survived by his daughter, Eileen Morrell, Johnson City; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Donna Morrell, Adairsville, Ga.; three grandchildren, Aaron, Kaitlyn and J. Ryan Morrell, all of Adairsville; one sister, Madeline Villanti, Vestal; sister-in-law, Mary Fox, Johnson City; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Nicholas and Gladys Piech, Lisle; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and proudly served in World War II in the 8th Air Force, 34th Bomb Group and was a retired employee of GAF.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospice, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905; or the Children's Home of Wyoming Conference, 1182 Chenango St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13901.
