A Memorial Service for Robert F. Smith will be held 11 a.m., Saturday at Zion Episcopal Church, Greene. The Very Rev. Ralph E. Osborne Rector will officiate. Friends of the family may call Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Zion Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Greene Fire Dept. or Emergency Squad 6, North Canal Street, Greene, N.Y. 13778; or the American Cancer Society; or the Alzheimer's Association, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, N.Y. 13790. Arrangements under the direction of Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St., Greene, N.Y. 13778.

It has been my privilege to have known and worked with Bob at the Town & Country pennysaver in Marathon. He was a wonderful man who spoke highly of his family. Many of Bob's customers would still ask about him and always had a kind word to say about him. He will be deeply missed. Our prayers go out to his family.

i remember when we were all little and grandpa use to scare us by taking his teeth out..hahaha he was so rotten..i will miss grandpa, i wish i could have been closer and been able to see him more. but now i know he is in a better place and he will be able to be with all of us always. love jamie

I first met Bob when he worked for Lakeside Pennysaver in the Greene office. He was always pleasant to work with, and we missed him greatly when he retired. I am sorry to hear of his passing, and am thankful to have known such a good man.
