I worked with Jack Sr. 25 years ago when he was in River Plaza. If you were new to his meetings, he would gently and fairly guide you; if you weren't new, you were expected to come to his meetings prepared. A kind, intelligent man with a great sense of humor, he is a standout memory in my 29 year career.
My deepest sympathies to the Rood family.

My thoughts and prayers are with each of the families as you come together in this time of loss. I will always remember Jack for his smile, quick wit, and that twinkle in his eye that made you think he might be "up to something." He was a sweet, kind person, which I've found runs in the family (Bob, Ray, John--I truly think the world of each of you). Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of such a wonderful man.

He was my "uncle by remote control", as Gram used to say. I have very, very fond memories of him and the rest of the family as well. It has been years since I have seen him but have thought of him often. He was a true example of a great man. The sense of humor and the good ol Rood salute he always gave when he either greeted you or when you left. Always telling me that he had a watermelon growing in his belly because he ate one too many watermelon seeds! He was always so warm and kind, I always looked up to him.

To Linda and Family: I am deeply saddened to hear of your loss and hope you find comfort in this dark and sad time.
I know he is with fantastic angels looking over us all. God Bless.

Uncle Jack was a Great Person and although I didn't get to see him much over the past years, I'll miss him a lot. I have many fond memories of him. Grandma Rood's picnics, the apartment in Ship Bottom, camping at Ocean View Campground in NJ, and just hanging out at his house when I was a kid to play with Chucky, Jackie and Debbie. One camping memory I have was at Deer Run Campground. Uncle Jack and my Dad sat up until probably midnight having a few beers. Many many beers. My Dad was loudly calling to a whippoorwill in the midnight silence of the campground and Uncle Jack was complaining about eating too many hot peppers and how he was dreading the next day.

Anyway, that's just one of the many memories I have of Uncle Jack. My heavy heart goes out to Aunt Linda, Chucky, Jackie, Debbie as well as the rest of our Family.

To Uncle Jack: I'll miss you greatly. I'm so sorry that you had to suffer for so long. You didn't deserve that. But if I can have any happy thoughts and feelings at this time, it's knowing that you're at Peace now.

Love,
Raymie
