Marian Jane Montross
of Charlotte, N.C.

Mrs. Montross, 84, of Charlotte, N.C., died Sunday, October 12, 2008, at her residence. She was born October 29, 1923 in Silver Lake, Pennsylvania, to the late Donald and Letha LaFrance Pierson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Montross was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and Ruth Pierson; brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Evelyn Pierson; brother-in-law, Clifford Brink; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph and Ejay Montross; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robin and Irene Reid. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert; sons, William and his wife, Linda, and Terry and his wife, Kay; grandchildren, Kelly White and her husband, Eddie, Courtney Kim, Travis Montross and his wife, Tina, and Kara Poindexter and her husband, Matt; great-grandchildren, Dawson and Carson Kim, Taylor and Zachary White, and Hudson Poindexter; brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Arlene Pierson; sister, Esther Brink; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Regina Pierson; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and James Flick; several caring nieces and nephews; and a special family friend, Janet Clink.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at Calvary Church, 5801 Pineville-Matthews Road, Charlotte, N.C. 28226. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Forest Lawn East Cemetery, Matthews, N.C. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 14, 2008, from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Calvary Church Imagine Fund 2008, c/o Calvary Church, 5801 Pineville-Matthews Rd., Charlotte, N.C. 28226. The family would like to thank Hospice & Palliative Care, Charlotte Region, for the special care they provided over the last few weeks. Dear Bob and Family,
I was so sorry to read of Marian's passing. Marian & I worked together at Burt's Dept. Store for many years and she truly was one of my fondest memories of those days. She will be greatly missed and was loved much by all who knew her. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
