Robert W. Pierpont
of Binghamton
Robert W. Pierpont, 83, of Binghamton, died Tuesday morning, October 23, 2007, at Bridgewater Nursing Center. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Sybil Pierpont. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Norma Winsor Pierpont, Binghamton; his daughter and son-in-law, Lori and John Yetter, Greene; a grandson, J.B. Yetter, Binghamton. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton. He was a retired longtime employee of Ansco and G.A.F. and worked for the water bureau for the City of Binghamton. Bob was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, member of the 82nd Airborne Division and served in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of American Legion Post 758 in Johnson City and the Binghamton Elks B.P.O.E. #70.
Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday at 9:30 a.m. Reverend Charles Opondo-Owora, Pastoral Administrator of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Thursday from 5-7 p.m.

Bob was a joy to take care of. He has made me laugh so many times during the year I took care of him. There was never a dull moment, unless he was sleeping. Bob loved Teddy and Snoopy, Lori and John's dogs, and played with them every day. A very strong willed and opinionated man, in a good way. He knew what he wanted and would not settle for less. We watched many great movies on TCM, and shared the newspaper every morning. I am gratefull to have known him and his wonderful wife Norma. I miss him dearly. Thank you Lori and John for allowing me in your home to care for your parents, it was a pleasure.
