Donald L. McMullen
formerly of Vestal
Donald L. McMullen, 87, formerly of Vestal, N.Y., passed away on December 1st at Lourdes Hospital. He was the son of the late Albert and Irene Jane McMullen. He was predeceased by sister, Betty Whittemore; and brother, Joseph McMullen. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth Fitch McMullen; and by children, Steven and Rebecca McMullen, Greene, Dean and Sherrie McMullen, Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, and Gary and Cheryl McMullen Gajdorus, Binghamton; five grandsons, Judson, Jarod, and Jordan McMullen, Benjamin and Philip Gajdorus; two step-grandchildren, David and Jami Tucker; and a great-grandson, Alexander McMullen. He is also survived by his sisters, Jane Courtright, Maine, N.Y., and Dolores Hendershot, Houston, Texas; his brother, Russell (Edna) McMullen, North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. McMullen was most recently employed by GE as a draftsman, and was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army Air Force stationed in England. He was a devoted family man, an avid Yankee fan, and a talented artist of oil paintings. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Vestal, N.Y., and served for many years as an usher.
Funeral and interment services will be held Tuesday, 7 p.m. from the Allen Memorial Home, 511 - 513 East Main Street, Endicott, with the Rev. Fr. John Putano, Pastor of his church, officiating. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until service time at 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 157 Clark St., Vestal, N.Y. 13850.
