Ronald Shapley
of Smithville Flats
Ronald Shapley, 71, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 1, 2007, at home. He was predeceased by his parents, Glenn and Ora Shapley; two brothers, Lowell (Bud) Shapley and Merritt Shapley; and sister, Laura Rice. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Anne; children, Ronald (Skip) and Kristina Shapley, Susquehanna, Pa., Yvonne and Stan Tannenholtz, Manlius, Brenda and Tim Crumb, Greene, Laureen and Paul Brady, Schoharie; grandchildren, Jordan Tannenholtz, Gage and Anna Marie Crumb, Connor and Ian Brady; two sisters, June Ellison and Lulu Mae Williams; brother, Glenn Shapley Jr.; several nieces and nephews. Ron served his country in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Germany. He married Anne in 1959. Ron retired from Agway in 1998 after 35 years of service.
Private services will be held at the Root Funeral Home, 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, N.Y. 13778. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Smithville Flats First Responders, Smithville Flats, N.Y. 13841.
