Jack L. Cower
of Doraville
Jack L. Cower, 77, of Doraville, died unexpectedly Thursday evening, December 6, 2007, at his home. He was predeceased by his parents, Alvah and Bernice Cower Sr.; a daughter, Suzanne Cower; and a brother, Alvah Cower Jr. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Arlene Cower, Doraville; a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Kaye Cower, Ouaquaga; a daughter and son-in-law, Ruthie and Jeff Benedict, Harpursville; five grandchildren, Rickele, Mark and Heather Cower, Stacy and Paul Warner, Tracy and John Hawkins; several great-grandchildren; a special great-granddaughter, Aimee Cower; a sister, Evelyn; and also several nephews and cousins. He was a retired heavy equipment operator, former manager of the Broome County Landfill in Doraville, former highway superintendent for the Town of Colesville, and owned and operated family farms.
Private Funeral Services will be held at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home, 69-71 Maple Street, Harpursville, on Sunday. Rev. William Fowler, Pastor of Bethel Chapel, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Harpursville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice or an act of kindness to those in need.
