Anthony (Tony) Malarkey
of Endicott
Anthony (Tony) Malarkey, 78, of Endicott, passed away, Monday, December 10, 2007, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, after a short illness. He was predeceased by his best friend and loving wife, Shirley (Andrews); his parents, Philip and Leonarda (Fata) Malarkey; sisters, Patricia DeBello, Marion Gioia, Josephine Bernardo, Carolyn Martone, Antonette DeNovellis; brothers, Paul, Louis, Leo and Peter DeNovellis, Luke and Michael Malarkey; a sister-in-law, Mary DeNovellis and Duane Andrews. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Paulette and Joe Konsuit; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Colleen Malarkey; four grandchildren, Jennifer and Hillary Konsuit and Philip and A.J. Malarkey; a brother and sister-in-law, Dominic and Betty Malarkey; and several sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He worked in the E.J. Tannery, Elsand Steel, Binghamton Steel and retired from I.B.M. Tony was a veteran of the National Guard, and was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his winters in Homosassa, Florida, with the "over the hill gang." He loved gardening his fruit trees in Florida and finding "bargains for his friends." He was always there for his family and friends, always willing to give you a "jab," whether you needed it or not. You could find him almost everyday in his son's office "supervising." He will be missed by all who knew him. We love you and miss you Dad, but we know you'll be with Mom.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, 12:30 p.m. from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, Endicott, at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Friday from 2-4 and evening 7-9 p.m.

Mr. and Mrs Malarkey, Phil and A.J.,
Grandpa Malarkey was a great man. Whenever I saw him, he went out of his way just to say "hello" to me. After lacrosse games he would tell me I did great even if I knew that I struggled. He was one of the nicest men that I have ever met and it's a shame that he is now gone. He had a way to make people feel better, and it came naturally to him. You will be missed Grandpa Malarkey.

Anthony & Paulette , I'm sorry to hear about Uncle Tony .He was a great Godfater to me . He will know be with Aunt Shirley and my Mother.I'm sorry we will not be able to be there to say good-bye,please accept my families deepest sympaties to all.Hang in there through this very tough time. I started at IBM the same day as Tony.

Tony, Paulette, and families, We are very saddened by your loss and will always remember Uncle Tony.
