I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Barackman, but his book truly touched my life in a remarkable way.
He forever will live in my heart.

Dr. Barackman was our class (71) advisor. He was an excellent teacher and we appreciate all that we learned from him. We have many fond memories of our time with him and feel that our lives have been impacted and enriched spiritually because of his friendship and teaching. We thank the Lord for having the priviledge of knowing Dr. Barackman and rejoice in his promotion to glory.

What kind of words can one really say about such a godly, kind, and beautiful person such as Dr. Barackman. I have such fond memories of his theology classes and have over the years often referred to his book. I pray God's blessings on his family. He certainly was a blessing to us.
I can just picture him now before the God he loved, studied, and shared so eloquently with his students.

Dr. Barackman was a great man of God and teacher of His Word. I appreciate so much the foundation he helped lay in my own life and theology.

I will always remember and appreciate a Saturday morning in upstate NY, walking through a freshly plowed field, looking for arrowheads and talking about life, history, God and His Word. Thank you for being what God wanted you to be and what we so needed!

Dr. Barackman will always be special to us. He was Shirlee's first pastor and became one who we could continue to look to while attending PBTS during 1973-1977. I would imagine he will have a long line of those whom he has touched waiting to greet him once we join him. Thank you Dr. Baracman for telling us,"God didn't create the world out of nothing, He bought it into nothing". You will forever live on in our hearts. Ed & Shirlee Imes, Hagerstown, Md.

I will never forget Mr. Barackman. During my years at PBTS/Davis College, he touched my life in a very specail way. He was a wonderful teacher, and my tears are tears of joy from having known him.

My rememberances of Dr. Barackman had nothing to do with college. He was my Pastor for many years at First Baptist of Maine, NY. I was saved under him and was in the last baptismal at my home church before moving on to PBTS. Mrs. Barackman played organ along with my Mother. Their Children, Ruthie & Philip are still very vivid in my mind. Although I hadn't seen them recently, I thought of them often & remembered them fondly. We are all saddened by his loss, but are rejoicing that he is now with his heavenly Father. My sympathies to the family!

Oh how I shall miss Dr. Barackman. I can't remember a time he didn't greet me with, "and how are you dear brother." No one was unimportant to him. He cared about everyone, and loved them too. This man's life was a commentary on what God is like. No question was ever a stupid question. My prayers and love are with you and your family Mrs. Barackman. With Love,

Dr. and Mrs. Barackman will always have a special place in my heart for their example to me and to the countless others that have come in contact with them. For all the practical application that was taught in theology class. And I will never forget Dr. B's profound words of wisdom as we finished class for the weekend. He would say and I quote, "Make sure you stay away from the Sheriff and the Undertaker!" Dr. Barackman you will be missed.

Gracious, loving and a true Christian gentleman who loved his LORD and his students. This describes who Dr. Barackman was. His depth in teaching, yet simplicity of understanding it, was one of my greatest blessings as a student at PBTS. He will be greatly missed by all yet he is reaping his rewards now in Heaven. Our sympathies to Mrs. Barackman and family.

Dr. Barckman has been and will continue to be a blessing and impact in our lives as well as the many we have we have ministered to. His "practical" approach to theology, (like the "jack-knife" bent towards sin/holiness) and his passion to teach any and all who wanted to learn made it possible for people like me to grasp hold of the great doctrines of the Bible with a clear understanding. May God bless you Ella and the Barakman family.

To me, coming to Practical as a newly saved student, all the Barackmans were such an example of Christ's love. Grandma Barackman was always there in the girl's dorm teaching and helping those of us who needed an example of a Godly woman. Mrs. Barackman was sweet in her love for the students and having her as a piano teacher, she showed patience even when I stumbled many times over the lessons. And the wealth of knowledge Mr. Barackman shared with his students both in the classroom and on campus was such a testimony to me. I loved his sense of humor. Even to this day, I share many of the things he told us. From all the other people sharing their memories, we can surely see, this family made a beautiful impact on so many lives.

We each had Dr. Barackman for Bible classes when we attended Practical. He was a great blessing to us, as he taught us to understand and apply the Bible in our daily lives, and as he lived out what he taught. We have his book, Practical Christian Theology, which he taught from in class, and have looked back into it many times over the years. We pray God's comfort for the Barackman family.

I loved sitting in the classroom under the instruction of Dr. Barackman. His gentle manner and humility always reminded me of Phil 2:5. His smile always brightened my days. It is indeed a time for rejoicing as Dr. Barackman is home. My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Barackman in this bittersweet moment.

Dr. Barackman was the reason that I chose to attend Practical Bible College and he was my favorite teacher because of his humility and compassion. I have always been thankful for the opportunity to learn from such a wise teacher. He will be missed on this earth, but we know he is being richly rewarded for his years of sacrificial service to His Lord. My condolences to his family.

Our sympathy to Ella during this time of sadness. Though we sorrow, we do not sorrow as the hopeless for we know that Floyd is in the presence of the Savior Whom he loved and served. Even now I (Rex) am currently doing a series of messages I call "Bible Doctrine for Living" and rely heavily on Dr. Barackman's Practical Christian Theology book. Earth's loss is Heaven's gain. May God bless and comfort you, Ella. Our prayers are with you.

Dr.Barackman's love for Jesus was so contagious. His book, "Practical Christian Theology" is still a very helpful reference to someone earnestly trying to study God's Word. Now, Floyd is with his Lord, I can hear him rejoicing now. Many at Twin Orchards Baptist Church will miss him, many Practical students carry on his teachings.

Dr. Barakman had a life changing influence on my life as a new believer. His example of godliness created in me a thrist for God. His teaching laid the foundation for my study of scripture and doctrine. His love for Christ, the church and the lost fueled my passion for ministry. I thank God for this humble diligent servant of Christ and his influence on my life and ministry. Jim Jeffery (President of Baptist Bible College and Seminary, Clarks Summit Pa)
