William Wynne Obituary

WYNNE, WILLIAM H. JR., 88, of Maplecrest Drive, Pawtucket, died Monday March 31, 2008 at the Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket. He was the husband of Alice (Henry) Wynne; they had been married 62 years.

Mr. Wynne was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late William H. and Harriott (Wharmby) Wynne. He was a machinist for Northrup Nortronics of Norwood, MA, for many years. Mr. Wynne was a WWII Navy Veteran serving in the Pacific Theater. He was a founding member of the Pineview Little League in Pawtucket and served as the President of the league as well as a manager and an umpire. Mr. Wynne was a longtime communicant of St. Leo's Church in Pawtucket.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Jane Houle of Pawtucket, two sons, William H. Wynne III of Charlestown, RI and John T. Wynne of Chepachet, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Anna Noonan.

The funeral for Mr. Wynne will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of St. Leo the Great, 705 Central Avenue at 11:00 a.m. Burial with full Military Honors will be in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery, Pawtucket. The calling hours for Mr. Wynne will be Wednesday 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home. For directions and guest book signatures, please visit: manningheffern.com.
