Joseph Veltri Obituary

VELTRI, JOSEPH, 92, of Hope, RI, passed away Friday, March 28, 2008 at Kent Hospital, Warwick. He was the husband of the late Florence A. (Ianni) Veltri.

Born in Belmonte Calabria, Italy, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Veltri) Veltri.

Mr. Veltri was a self employed restaurateur for many years before retiring, and was also in the shoe business in RI and CA.

He is survived by a daughter, Anna D. Olson of Apple Valley, CA; and was father of the late John R. Veltri; a brother, Salvatore Veltri of Cranston and the late Maria Osso, Rosario and Frank Veltri; four grandchildren, Suzette Rosen, Michelle Ray, Lisa and Darren Rodgers; and six great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Alec, Julia, Lia, Zack, and Lisa.

Mr. Veltri enjoyed dancing, cooking, gardening, and being around children and animals, and loved telling stories about his life as a child in Italy and how deeply he loved his Mama.

My grandpa had a big heart, with a gentle soul, he was a wonderful man. He was my best friend and my world. He will forever be in our hearts and prayers.

His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthew's Church, Cranston at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Wednesday 4-8 p.m.
