Mary Macari Obituary

MACARI, MARY C. (JACAVONE) 80, of Loxley Drive, Johnston, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Cherry Hill Manor Nursing Home, Johnston. She was the wife of Joseph S. Macari. They were married for fifty-nine years.

Born in Johnston, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Acciardo) Jacavone. Mrs. Macari was the co-owner of the former Macari Photography Studio of Cranston for thirty years before retiring in 1981. She was also employed by the former Crissloid Manufacturing Company of Providence. Mrs. Macari was an active communicant of St. Roccos Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxilliary and the Alpine Country Club.

Besides her husband she is survived by her brothers and sisters Anna Macari and her husband John of Cranston, John Jacavone and his wife Anna of Providence, Carlo Jacavone and his wife Julie of Johnston and Lena D'Arezzo of Wakefield. Mrs. Macari was the sister-in-law of Ann Marie Tanzi of Cranston. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Roccos Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Entombment will be in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum in St. Anns Cemetery, Cranston. Dear Joe,
I am so sorry to hear about your wife Mary's passing. Please know I am thinking of you and praying for you.
I will never forget the time I was at your studio back in 1975 (you did my wedding) and you said Mary loves to go shopping, in she walked and we talked and ended up going shopping together, we had so much fun.
Joe I'll never forget working with you at the courthouse, I'm sure everyone there sends their love and prayers to you. Take care my friend.
