David Moniz Obituary
Born in Providence, a son of the late Edward and Barbara (Gilleeney) Moniz. He had lived in Cranston with his wife Lisa M. Del Salva. He was the ex-husband of Cyndra (Klatt) Moniz of Exeter.
Mr. Moniz was a fence salesman for the Wood & Wire Fence Co. for 20 years. He was a peacetime veteran with the US Air Force. David was a past President of Mothers Against Drunk Drivers.
Besides his wife and ex wife he leaves a daughter, Erin E. Moniz of Ashville, NC, a son, Thomas Burcosky of Cranston, 2 brothers; Michael E. Moniz of Ashville and John G. Moniz of Cranston and a sister, Mary K. Pecchia of Johnston. He was father of the late Brendan Moniz.
Funeral Thursday at 8:00am from the Stapleton-Barry- Holdredge Funeral Home, 684 Park Avenue, Cranston. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthew Church, Cranston at 9:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to MADD RI Chapter, 2 Regency Plaza, Providence, RI. His life will be celebrated with calling hours Wednesday 4-7. Burial will be private in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Visit cranstonfunerals.com for directions.

Even after all of the services and mourning, I still can't believe that you're gone. I miss you but I know that dad is right in telling me that I shouldn't be sad about the loss, but happy about how fortunate we were to spend the day celebrating Erin's return and my birthday. David - so funny, so loving, so handsome! He was my oldest cousin and was the epitome of cool while I was growing up in the 70's. Through the years one could always count on his bright smile, twinkling eyes and kind words. We miss you David!
