Virginio Carvalho Obituary

CARVALHO, VIRGINIO D., 75, of Blanding Ave., died June 23, 2008, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Maria E. (Frias) Carvalho.

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Miguel Lima Carvalho and Maria (Medeiros) Carvalho. Mr. Carvalho was self-employed and was known to all as 'The Fish Man'.

Besides his wife of 52 years, he is survived by his children, Joe Carvalho of Warwick, Brenda Custodio and Natalie Coelho both of Cranston, Helen Melo of East Providence, Linda DiSano of Scituate; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was the brother of Humberto Carvalho, Alda Pacheco and Fernanda Santos all of Providence, Beatriz Soares and Fatima Pereira both of East Providence, Manuel Carvalho of Cranston and Peter Carvalho of Somerset, MA, and the late John Carvalho.

The funeral will be held on Friday at 8:45AM from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM in Our Lady of The Rosary Church, Traverse Street, Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4-8PM. www.rebellofuneralhome.com
