Genoveffa C. Alibrandi

ALIBRANDI, GENOVEFFA C. (COREA) 'GENA', 92, of Sakonnet Bay Manor, died Monday at her home. She was the wife of the late John W. Alibrandi. She was formerly of Roslindale, MA, Manchester, NH, and Ocala, FL.

Gena was a graduate of Framingham State College in 1938. She taught in Boston, and Manchester where she received recognition as the Outstanding Teacher of the Year in New Hampshire. When she lived in Ocala she was an active member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church and was an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister.

She is survived by two sons Victor Alibrandi and his wife Christine, John Alibrandi and his partner Philip Mullins, her daughter Nancy Griffin and her husband Phil, a sister Frances Novello. She was preceded in death by her two brothers Nicholas and Edward Corea of Hingham, MA, and her sister Eleanor Setterberg of San Leandro, CA.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 8 am from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River, MA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in Saint Theresa Church, 265 Stafford Road, Tiverton, RI. Visiting hours, Friday 4-8pm. Private burial will be held at a later date.
