Charles Rooney Obituary
Born in Providence a son of the late William and Katherine (Hurley) Rooney. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Mr. Rooney worked for the US Postal service for 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.
Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Karen A. Nutini and her husband Thomas of West Warwick, and a grandson, Jason Nutini. He was the brother of Margaret Smith and the late Richard and William Rooney.
Funeral will be Sat. at 8:30 am from the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church, 66 Church Street, West Warwick, at 9:30 am. Calling hours Fri. 4-7 PM. Burial with military honors at the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers donations to Alzheimer's Association Rhode Island Chapter, 245 Waterman Street, Providence, RI 02906, or Home & Hospice Care of RI, 143 Main Street, Wakefield, RI 02879.
