Kim Lawton Obituary
Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph P. Lawton, Sr. and Dorothy (Briggs) Lawton. He was a resident of North Kingstown most of his life.
Mr. Lawton was currently employed by Baywatch Marine Co. and was previously employed by Control Data Corp. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 13 years, serving 10 of those years in Newfoundland; was a Lieutenant in the Quidnessett Volunteer Fire Company; a member of the East Greenwich Veteran Firemens Assoc.; the U.S. Power Squadron and the East Greenwich Yacht Club.
He is survived by a son, Joshua B. Lawton of Providence; two brothers, Joseph P. Lawton, Jr. of North Kingstown and John C. Lawton of Weare, NH; two nieces, Jessica and Sarah Lawton of Weare, NH and his former wife, Beatrice J. Weiss in FL.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering on Monday, June 30, 2008 at 1 pm at the East Greenwich Yacht Club, 10 Water St., East Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Coast Guard Foundation, 394 Taugwonk Rd., Stonington, CT 06378, in his memory would be appreciated. Arrangements with HENAULT-GALLOGLY, Funeral Directors.
