Anthony Petracca Obituary

PETRACCA, ANTHONY D., 88, of Kristen Dr., died July 6, 2008 at Hebert Nursing Home after a courageous battle with a brief illness. He was the husband of Grace (D'Aloia) Petracca.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Francesco and Angelina (Schiavone) Petracca.

Anthony was a toolmaker for various companies. An Army veteran of WWII, he was member of the VFW Post #10011, Lymansville. Anthony was generous, kind, and compassionate and devoted to all of his family members.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Thomas A. Petracca and his wife Pattie of North Providence, a grandson, Jason Petracca, a great-grandson Nathan Petracca, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Mario Petracca, Concetta Robida, Luco Petracca, Anna Marinetti, Irma DiSeares, Mary Furtado, Gilda Petracca, and Nicola Petracca.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 8 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in St. Anthony Church, North Providence. Graveside burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hebert Nursing Home, Attn: Resident Activities Dept., 180 Log Rd., Smithfield, RI 02917.
