Barbara, an old and dear friend. You will always be in my thoughts and a little corner of my heart. I will remember you with that smiling Irish face, a quick wit, and a kind word. How many miles did we walk at the Blvd.? We solved the world's problems and a few of our own! While we fought the battle of the bulge! When we last met, we cried and hugged, an unspoken goodbye. God bless you Barbara...Love Bernie

To Barbara's Family,
From the moment I met her as a fellow member of LRI's Kappa Klass, I was a fan! I'm so glad our paths crossed then, and from time to time thereafter. Rhode Island - and the world - is a happier, better place for having Barbara in it. She is missed.

Elizabeth,
I went to Tyler, and rememeber you being in my class. I am sorry about your loss. The Mass was beautiful. 58 is too young as Fr Ricci said in his homily. I loss a brother 10/2006 at 65 of Cancer. Its not the same but life went on as when my parents passed away 15 years ago 4 l/2 months apart. I had to adjust. Take care of yourself.

I met Barbara for the first time in the elevator at Providence cityhall. I work in a different department than she did, but every time I saw her walking in the hallways or in the elevators I will always get a nice smile and a hello from her. I always hear people saying good things about her and how nice she was with everybody. I know that we are going to miss her very much.
My condolences go out to her family.

Dear Betty, Teddy, Amy, Sam, Megan, Daniel, Caroline, Savannah, Lauren, Shaun and Christine,

My deepest sympathy to you all in your loss of Barbara. I worked with Barbara for 5 years in the Department of Human Resources Providence City Hall.

Barbara loved all of you so very much. As Sybil said she feels like she knows all of you and this is so true. We truly felt a part of your Family.

Barbara was my precious friend. Walking in the Office every morning was so uplifting you couldn't wait to say Good Morning and hear Barbara's cheerful Good Morning. It was a wonderful way to start my day and it continued all day and everyday.

We truly have something special in our office. I would walk by Barbara's desk and say "I LOVE YOU" and she would respond "LOVE YOU TOO". We truly had so much love in our office and we always will thanks to our Barbara. She holds such a special place in my heart. How blessed I am to have had Barbara in my life and will always. Barbara was so wonderful to my Family especially Joseph and Alicia they truly loved her. She was always on there side.

On Barbara's last day in the Office we formed a Circle and Barbara said, "No matter where I am you all will always be a part of me and part of my heart. How lucky are we to hear those words from Barbara. Barbara we will always be with you forever. We truly had so much fun. YOU ARE THE BEST!

Ted, Betty and Families
I was so saddened to hear of Barbara's passing. She was such a genuine gift to all she met. When I was a young, somewhat awkward kid growing up (that didn't seem to fit in anywhere) Barbara had the ability to understand. Her accepting nature and laughter are memories I will never forget. Although many years have past I know Barbara has continued to touch many lives with her kind spirit, humour and love of life. She has passed much to young and all are deeply saddened, however I look at the gift she has given us, herself, and that is the memory that will always be in my heart. My deepest condolences. Peace, John Douglas

Betty, Teddy, Sam, Megan, Daniel, Caroline, Savannah, Lauren, Shaun and Christine,

Words could never describe how we in City hall are feeling about Barbara being gone. She was such a dear friend to so many especially those of us in Human Resources-- we were more than colleagues, we were truly good friends. These past few days we have been reflecting on so many good times that we have had together that we have gone back and forth between laughing and crying. She was such a special person and we will always treasure her memory.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to you as we can imagine how you must be feeling. Barbara spoke so much about her family--believe me I feel like I know each of you personally and they are all fond, loving thoughts. She loved you so much as we all loved her.

Fondly,
Sybil Bailey
