May Mitchell Obituary

MITCHELL, MAY, W., 86, formerly of Bay Spring Village, Bay Spring Avenue, died peacefully on July 8, 2008. She was the wife of the late Robert F. Mitchell.

Born in Astoria, NY, a daughter of the late Harry and Rose (Whitehead) Watson, she lived in Barrington for 20 years.

Mrs. Mitchell was a clerk in the Barrington School Department Administration Office for 10 years. She previously was a secretary for Hart Engineering, Speidel Division of Textron and the former Child Real Estate.

May was a member and volunteer at St. John's Episcopal Church, Barrington. She also was a long standing member of the Episcopal Church Women's organization. Mrs. Mitchell enjoyed sewing and gardening.

She is survived by a daughter; Janet Schade of Half Moon Bay, CA and James R. Mitchell of Scottsdale, AZ. She was sister of the late Rev. Joseph Watson and Rose Goldschmidt.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday July 12, 2008 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 am with a funeral service in St. John's Episcopal Church, County Road, Barrington at 10 am. Burial will be held in Forest Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday 4-7 pm. Contributions in May's memory to The Episcopal Conference Center, Reservoir Road, Pascoag, RI, 02859 would be deeply appreciated.
