Armando Salzillo Obituary

SALZILLO, ARMANDO 'EDDIE' A., of Warwick died peacefully of natural causes surrounded by his loving family on July 8th at 6:35 pm in Kent County Hospital.

Born in Providence a son of the late Camille and Angelina (Madella) Salzillo.

A true American Patriot, Eddie served and defended his country proudly, selflessly and honorably during World War II as a half track driver from 16 Mar 1943- 9 Nov 1945 while assigned to the 777th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons battalion in the European Theater. Eddie was a survivor of several military battles, including but not limited to, the 'Battle of the Bulge' fought by the 'Super' Sixth Armored Division under the Command of General George S. Patton.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years Rose (Dimeo) Salzillo, his only daughter Jean (Flamand) Bucci and her husband Robert Bucci of Kissimmee, Florida. Additionally, he was the proud grandfather of Melanie Flamand of Warwick, Renee Flamand of Kissimmee, and Major Richard F. Flamand II currently stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida. Lastly, he was loved dearly by his four great-grandchildren; Cassondra, Alexandria, Reagan and Easton. He is also survived by several siblings. Eddie enjoyed playing cribbage and golf with his family and friends. He will certainly be missed by all.

His funeral service will be held Friday at 10 am in 'WOODLAWN' Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Thursday 4-8 pm. www.WoodlawnGattone.com
