Carolyn Brand Obituary

BRAND, CAROLYN (SHEEHAN), 71, of White Parkway, North Smithfield, died Thursday, July 10, 2008, in the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late John and Eloise (Nelson) Sheehan.

Ms. Brand worked for more than thirty-five years for AMICA Insurance, Lincoln, and, at the time of her retirement in 1997, she was a lease administrator for the Facilities Management Dept. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Woonsocket, and enjoyed reading and spending time with her friends and family who fondly remember her as a very kind, loving, and charitable woman. She was a 1955 graduate of Woonsocket High School and a 1957 graduate of Bryant College, Providence.

She is survived by a son, John Brand, of Woonsocket; a daughter, Lisa Snyder, of MA; a brother, Thomas Sheehan, and his wife, Barbara, of N. Smithfield; a sister-in-law, Ruth Sheehan, of CT; twin grandchildren, Noah and Maeve Snyder; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late James Sheehan.

Her funeral will be held Monday, July 14, 2008, at 8:30 a.m. from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 S. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm Street, Blackstone, MA. Calling hours are Sunday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 169 George Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860. www.holtfuneralhome.com

Carolyn was a dear, sweet friend. Although we had less contact as years passed, we retained a special bond. I was greatly saddened to learn of her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
