I recently learned of Brooms Mr. Broomfields passing. This news made me very sad. I have very fond memories of him. Every time I speak of my amazing math teacher I had in high school and again in college. The only teacher that knew how to teach me. He had a way of making me understand the most complex things. He will live on in my fond memories.
My condolences to his family.

Mr. Broomfield,

You were by far one of the smartest and kindest teachers I've known. You made every student feel smart, capable, and important. You were always willing to help, even with problems that were not math related. I will miss you so much and I am sorry that I did not get a chance to say goodbye.

Mr. Broomfield,
I am speak for all your favorite students when I say this, you will be missed. For JB, John A., Becca, Paul, and Myself, you were a mentor and a friend. You were always there to joke with, cry with, and of course solve math equations with. You touched our lives in so many ways, ways that we could never thank you enough for. You brought the five of us together and taught us to love and respect each other, and always have each other's backs. It was your class that brought us together, and it is your spirit and love that will keep us friends forever. You were a great man in life, and you will continue to be great in death. I know you are watching over us, and I hope you know we love you.
You will always be in our hearts and minds.

When I think of Richard I think.... over flowing Heart, Wise, Caring, Giving, Loving, Joy filled Spirit. When Richard would read from the Kabbalah or recite Zen quotes, he always picked "just" what I needed to hear. I know he walks with us in sprit now and will live forever in our hearts. I am truly blessed for having Richard be in my life. The light with in will shine forever.

Zen Quotes by Mumon......You cannot describe it or draw it. You cannot praise it enough or perceive it. No place can be found in which to put the Original Face; it will not disappear even when the universe is destroyed.

When I was young and spent the summers at Narragansett, Dick, Allen B and Kenny M were my best friends. We went everywhere together. Dick taught me how to drive his 1955 Cadillac with the big wings.
For years, I lost contact with him. About a year and a half ago we found each other again. Every phone call was about the "Good ole days."
My heart breaks terribly that my dear friend had end his life this way.
P.I. will never forget you! You'll always be in my heart.
Rest well. Love, P.I.

Richard will be missed by many. The many friends he made in his life time will miss his humanity, his sense of humor, his deep sense of fairness, his ability to work through the most complex of problems, his love for his family, but it was his deep sense of loyalty and friendship that I will remember him best.
He touched many, many lives in his lifetime, not only the thousands of students that he taught and earned his respect, but also by his professional colleagues, his running buddies, his martial arts friends, and his radio club, only to name a few.
But above all, Richard was a devoted father whose sons, Adam and Nathaniel, made him proud every day of his life.
I will sorely miss him as a friend, but the memory of many of the adventures that we shared in the 31 years we knew each other will never leave me.

Dear Nathaniel, Adam, and Family,

Please accept my sincere condolences and support. I read about Richard's death with great sadness. He will be remembered as a gentle spirit and soul. Hopefully, living near the ocean was a comfort to him. May he rest in peace.

With heartfelt support to you,
