Salvatore Mattera Obituary
Mr. Mattera was the owner and operator of Jolly Joe's Ice Cream before retiring. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.
He was the brother of Anthony J. Mattera, Marie Petrucci and the late John and Jerry Mattera, Filomena Petrucci and Yolanda Pacitto.
Visitation and funeral will be held Saturday, 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, 1 Knight Street, Providence. Graveside burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Please omit flowers.

In My Pocket

I can't believe this I remember him when I was a child I lived off of Nausauket Rd and he was my favorite ice cream man he was always happy and very nice. I am extremly sorry for your loss because he will be missed a lot by everyone who knew him as a jolly guy.

To.Mr. Mattera's family,
I was saddened to read the loss of Jolly Joe. As a child, he was as special to me as was Rocky Point. Living near there, they both made my summers special. I'm sure that he will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by many former ice-cream lovers. My sympathy to you at this sad time.
