Who is Kenneth G. Nanni?
Who is Kenneth G. Nanni?
The son of Marguerite Gilardi and Gaetano Nanni born on May 2nd, 1938 the youngest of nine children
The brother of Camille, Portia, Marguerite, Lillian, Enrico, Robert, John, and Harold
The uncle of too many to mention, but so many he loved and had a special part in his heart
The great uncle to many more
The husband to his wife of forty-eight years, Norma
The father of his girls Debra, Lori, Brenda, and Jennifer
The father-in-law of his sons he never had Steven, John, David, and Craig
The papa of Stephanie, Steven (Pop), Tori-Lee (Happy), Kayla Mae (Little Tomato), Johnny, and Stephanie
The great grandfather of Bryanna

Friends to so many especially his brothers from Charles Street Joey, Rocco, and Johnny O

My father was such a special person who loved his family. There are so many ways he showed it. We found some of dad’s treasures while looking for pictures – he actually had his father’s prayer card from March 12, 1955 all worn in his pocket every day. He had notes that his girls wrote to him that he carried with him and so many pictures from many years ago. We will treasure them because they show us what family meant to him.

My dad loved to make people happy, especially little ones. He brought St. Nicholas to so many children, my cousin Joey remembers going with him on Christmas Eve. All the smiles and memories he made.

My dad was loved by so many young men in North Providence when he coached the Jets – he had daughters but had adopted so many sons.

Dad loved his family with his whole heart. He took in all of his son-in-laws as his own, and sometimes defended them over us. He taught us to be respectful of everyone; be a loyal friend; focus on your family and take good care of them; have faith in our Lord; he lived his faith; he loved his faith

Dad did not favor one of us over the other, we were all “Daddy’s little girls.” He gave us all different gifts. He never laid a hand on us but boy did we fear when mom told us to “Wait until your dad gets home”

My dad made me who I am – I give my life to my family, friends, and my students. I work to my best ability and he always told me how proud he was of me – of all of us.

Dad loved his trade and taught us to be proud of yourself and always do your best at work, so that you would want your name on it. Dad was a carpenter at heart right until he left us. He has been building memories all his life with everyone that has come in touch with him. Every one that has ever met him has some beautiful memory. These last months dad has been working with Uncle Bobby and building what we want to believe to be a home for all of his loved ones. He missed his parents, brothers, and sisters and we believe that he had the largest homecoming when he arrived on July 14th 2008. We are all going to miss his Mr. Magoo grin; his hats; his loving words when we would call and needed him to comfort us; his glow when he walked into the room and saw his children and grandchildren – Oh he is so proud of us.

I remember every time he would be down, he would apologize for the life he gave us and I would tell him that we are who we are because of the life we had. We did not need “the stuff” that he always managed to make sure we had every holiday such as the Easter that he forgot the baskets and told us they were left at Auntie Camille’s or the Christmas Eves we spent at Grandma DellaPosta’s while him and mom went shopping or the Christmas we had to move into our home in Lincoln with a pile of sand in the dining room and our Christmas Tree that was as wide as the window with the sooty footprint by the fireplace was there before us. What about the time uncle Georgie came to Job Street as St Nick and always managed to bring us quarters, the rich uncle. What about the visits to the Apple orchard and vineyard and Auntie Portia’s long cigarette. What about the Sunday visits to Uncle Rico’s for homemade gnocchis drying out on the bed and later years Polenta. What about the Fourth of July Reunions at Uncle Harold’s. The card games at Auntie Camille’s with the seven fish on Christmas Eves. The fun Sundays at Uncle Frankie and Auntie Lill’s backyard. And long ago the visits to Uncle Johnnie’s antique house in Johnston. Dad always made sure we had good family memories, we had him and mom always showing us the way.

Tori remembers papa eating eggs and cereal, playing hide and seek when it was never too hard to find papa in the middle of the room. Papa always took them to the park to play on the rides. Papa would steal Tori’s hat and put it on.

Dad lived Jesus’ way by giving, listening, caring, loving, and respecting everyone.

Yes, we will miss dad but we have so many memories

His girls have one thing that we will always miss and that is when he would call us “DAD”

Dad we love you, what a great job you have done and you have made us so proud of you

Dad we all wish you Pleasant dreams, God Bless You, don’t let the bed bugs bite.

Dear Norma, Debbie, Lori, Brenda & Jenny,

I am so sorry that I won't be able to attend the funeral and wanted you to know that I am thinking of all of you.

Kenny had the most wonderful way of lighting up a room whenever he walked in. He never failed to make me smile. I have such fond memories of growing up with all of you and I know that closeness in your family will be of great comfort now.

I am sure that Kenny will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Sincerely,
Marisa

You are my life, you made me who I am and I am proud to call you my father. Your kind words and strong heart are what made you who you are. I am glad I was able to be with you in your final days but still miss you so much. We will be okay and we will all be there for each other so that you can be at peace.

I will miss you with every ounce of my sole but know in my heart that you are finally resting and at peace. Say hi to all your siblings because I know you are with them now.

Dad, although you are no longer with us on earth, you will remain in our hearts forever. I know that you are happy and watching over us but I will miss our talks and your comforting words. You are at peace now. We will take care of mom for you. Watch over us and guide us. Just call me "dad" one more time. Hugs and kisses.
Love,
Debbie
