Jeanmarie Soares Obituary
She was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Antone & Cynthia (Faria) Soares. Jeanmarie was a correctional officer at the Adult Correctional Institute. She previously worked for the Providence County Sheriff's Department. She was a member of the Rhode Island Brotherhood of Correctional Officers. She was a member of the Sheldon Street Church were she was also a Sunday School teacher.
She leaves three daughters; Rae-Ann Soares of Providence, Nadria Soares & Jemari Soares both of East Providence, three sisters; Andrea Soares-Hirst, Marcella Christie & Cheryl Gomes all of East Providence & one brother, Courtney Soares of Providence.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 A.M. in the Mt. Hope Community Baptist Church, 734 Hope Street, Providence. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence. Calling hours Sunday 4-8 in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence.

Jean was a beautiful person with the sweetest of spirits. She will be truly missed. I pray that God will comfort the family and friends that will miss her so. I don't know where to begin, this past week has been a complete nightmare. Jean from the time I was four years old until now you have always been a sister to me. I love you very much and you will be greatly missed. I still remember the sleepovers we had at your house and how you supported my tap dancing lol when no one else wanted to listen to me tap tap shuffle shuffle. To my sister-inlaw,
We had a friendship that i'll cherish for the rest of my life. Thank you friend for all you did for me, and my family. I'm going to miss your holiday parties, your smile that brighten so many lives, and most all just talking to you on the phone for hours. We had a friendship that was tested by so many people, and we were able get through it all. That's what friendship is truly about getting through the tough times, and being there for one another through the good and bad times. I'm so angry and hurt that god call you home so soon. One thing that's helping me deal with losing such a dear friend, there was nothing left unsaid between the two us. I thank you for three amazing nieces Rae-Ann, Nadria, & Jemari. To my nieces no one will ever take the place of your mother, she loved you girls so much, and worked so hard to take care of you.
