Myrl Brown Obituary
Born in Scranton, PA, a son of the late George and Ella (Weidow) Brown, he lived in Warwick for 30 years, moving to Hope Valley 3 months ago.
Mr. Brown was a custodian for the Warwick Public Schools for 21 years, retiring in 2001. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served for 21 years as an aircraft firefighter, retiring from the Navy in 1980.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Tracy A. Jefferson and her companion James P. Diggins, Kathleen M. Mancini and her friend Joseph Bruni, and Brandy M. Drowne and her husband Dale, all of Warwick; two brothers, Melvin W. Brown of Shoemakersville, PA and Charles Brown of Jacksonville, NC; a sister, Virginia B. Allen of McCammon, Idaho, and three grandchildren, Elisha, Mason, and Brayden.
His funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24, at 10:30 a.m. in the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited, and may visit on Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI 02914.
