Lennart Eliason Obituary

ELIASON, LENNART A., 93, of Old Widow Sweets Rd., died Thursday July 24, 2008, in the Kent County Hospital. He was the husband of Alice D. (Delaive) Eliason to whom he had been married for fifty-nine years.

Mr. Eliason was born in Goteborg, Sweden, a son of the late Carl A. and Alma (Peterson) Eliason. He had been a resident of Exeter for the past forty-five years. As a die sinker/toolmaker, he owned and operated the L. Eliason Co. in Providence for over twenty four years until his retirement in 1988 after apprenticing earlier in his career as a drop-fuge die sinker and toolmaker at the former Rhode Island Tool Works from 1938-1944. He was a life member of the Verdandi Male Chorus, singing from 1932 to the present time, a member of the Johan Baner Lodge Vasa Order of America and the Die Sinkers Conference Union.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son Eric Eliason of Coventry, a brother, Carl E. Eliason of Warwick, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A service will be held Wednesday at 5 PM in the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick. Friends will be welcomed one prior to the service. Should friends desire, donations to the Vasa Order of America Scholarship Fund, R.I. District No. 3 Scholarship Fund, c/o June McCrillis, 71 Belmont St., Cranston, RI 02910 will be appreciated.
