Please accept my profound sympathy and regret, as well as great appreciation for the wonderful person Madeline was. Both she and Tim stand out vividly in my memory as generous and passionate people, who had a great and positive influence on others. I feel privileged to have known them during this lifetime.

I met your mom/sister when my then husband Allan M. Thompson was a graduate student in geology at Brown. Tim was his thesis advisor. She was less than ten years my senior and had three little girls. Allan and I had two girls, one of which now climbs mountains! Allan spent his entire teaching career at the University of Delaware, retiring last year. The Mutch family has always been special to us. My thoughts are with you all at this sad time.
