Jennie Mondillo Obituary

MONDILLO, JENNIE A. 'NINA' (CROCE), 83. Nina's life came to an end on July 28, 2008, after living with courage and grace through numerous illnesses, the most recent, Parkinson's Disease. Formerly of North Providence, she was recently living with her family in Providence. She was the wife of the late Domenic Mondillo.

Born in Providence on May 4, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Marchetti) Croce and the sister of the late John A. Croce.

Nina was a longtime employee of Universal Optical and Metal Dynamics, where she was acknowledged by numerous awards. Her greatest loves were her family, friends, cooking, baking, children and music. She was an assistant Cub Scout den mother, member of the LaSalle Choir and the PTA during her children's school years.

Nina was the proud mother of Elaine M. Mondillo of Providence, Bev Wright of Providence and Domenic Mondillo of New Zealand. She was the mother-in-law of Steve Wright and Ally Mondillo.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, July 31 at 9 a.m., from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., N. Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Church, Cole Ave., Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nina's memory may be made to Make a Wish Foundation, 757 Park Ave, Cranston, RI, 02910. maceroni.com
