Madeline Pryor Obituary

PRYOR, MADELINE S. (MELONE), 82, of Ansel Avenue died July 30th at the Hospice Intake Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late John F. Pryor Jr.

Born in North Providence she was the daughter of the late Pasco and Jenette (Rosner) Melone and had lived in Providence for over 50 years. She was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church in Cranston.

She is survived by her son John F. Pryor III with whom she lived and a brother Bernard Melone of North Providence.

The funeral will be held on Monday at 8:45am from The Butterfield Chapel, 500 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthews Church, Cranston at 10:00am. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-5pm. Kindly omit flowers. Donations to the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center 50 Maude Street Providence would be appreciated. John, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss for your mother. It was such a pleasure everyday to go down to her room at the Philip Hulitar and see her. She always knew why I was coming to see her. (You were on the phone) And everytime she was such a sweetheart about it. I know that she is up there with all the angels now and now she is with your dad once again. She will surely be watching down on you, so now instead of 1 angel you have 2

John, it was my extreme privilege to care for your Mom at the inpatient unit as her CNA. She faced her illness with such grace and dignity and did not complain one time. I asked if I could adopt her as my mom and she'd just smile so beautifully. She will always have a special place in my heart and was a true inspiration.
