Dear Chuck(y), Elisa and family,
we were very saddened by the passing of such a great man, your dad, one of my many favorite uncles. I have always cherished the times that I stayed with your parents, sort of a little vacation--long before you were born. Your dad was a very gentle, patient and loving person. He is at peace now and with your mom- cherish the memories that you have.
Our deepest sympathy to you and your family.
All our love,
Richard and Doreene

P.S.
For those of you who don't know, Bernard was a brilliant musician, and a self-taught artist. The beauty of his violin playing matched the beauty of his life. He was my mentor in many ways. Wish he were here for one last duet with me. Memories will last forever. Thanks for that.

Dear Chuck and family,

There are no words to express how much I loved your father. Only he knows that. What a terrible waste of a wonderful person. Before and even after he became ill he had so much wisdom, love, and patience to give to all who knew him. He is at peace at last and leaves incredible memories for all of us.

My sincere condolences on the loss of Bernie. He was one of the pioneers of the Trudeau Center, a mentor to me during my terms as President and someone who I called a friend.
