Louise Campopiano Obituary

CAMPOPIANO, LOUISE (VITI), beloved and devoted wife of the late Allie Campopiano, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on August 6, 2008 at the Charlesgate Nursing Home in Providence. Born September 13, 1909, she was the fifth of ten children born to Carmine and Maria Domenica (De Cesare) Viti and was a lifelong resident of Providence.

After raising her two sons, she worked for many years in the jewelry industry, retiring after 20 years. Taking care of people was her specialty, and her family benefited greatly from the love and attention she showed them. She is survived by her sons, Robert, and his wife, Lynn, of Falls Church, VA, and Allan of Providence. She was the cherished grandmother of Carole Hayward, and her husband, Steve, and Robert, Jr. and great-grandmother of Carole and Steve's children, Collin and Corinne. She is also survived by her sister, Mary H. Viti.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Wednesday 5-8 PM in the A. A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence. Funeral Thursday at 10 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 AM in St. Ann's Church, Hawkins St., Providence. Burial in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations to: Odyssey Healthcare Foundation, 2374 Post Rd., Suite 205, Warwick, RI 02886.

"Grandma Camp" will hold a place in my and my family's hearts forever.

She was a kind, loving, and thoughtful person...and so full of spunk!

I close my eyes and can hear her voice saying, "Oh, Allie..." They are together again and that is a blessing.

Thinking of you all with love and respect at this difficult time.
