i miss you so much grammy. this is so hard, knowing youre gone. what am i supposed to do without you? how am i supposed to live like its okay when nothing about this is okay. nothing has been okay for years and all i want is to turn back time so i can relive every moment with you so i never took advantage of those moments and i used to play house when i was little and daddy has on a video where he makes the plastic phone ring and i answer and then i say grammys coming over for dinner!! i wish you could come over for dinner every single night i want you to be at my college graduation and my wedding and i want you there for my kids and you cant be and i miss you so much i just wish things were different and i am sobbing right now and i know you would tell me to knock it off and i would say i cant and you would say dont you tell me that yes you can. just like coughing. i dont want thanksgiving or christmas or easter or anything to come this year because they will never be the same. this is so permanent. i hate it!! i wish i could be with you. youre the only one i look like and youre the only one who came to see me first after allie was born and i love you so much and i always will

Dear Maureen & family - I'm so sorry to read of Joan's passing. We shared wonderful times back in the days of gardens, real estate (she was the one who got me started), and great friendship. WE HAD FUN!!! I'll always think of her at the house on Parkside - what a great time we had! My thoughts are with you and your family.

Joan was ,and will always be , my 'Rhode Island Mom', even after I moved away in 1985. We kept in touch through all the years. Caroline , Mark and Ian called her Aunty Joan. I loved her for so many things but especially her honesty, fun-loving nature , and love of her garden., and lobster of course.Your family made me feel so welcome too.

Joan has always been in my thoughts with the goodbye always of " I love you" when we talked on the phone through the years. Whenever I worked in my garden( meager by her standards!)I remembered her saying how much fun it was to dig in the dirt. I will plant a Betty Prior Rose in her honor.

What an incredibly strong woman who found the best of any situation.
My love to each of you,
Becky Griswold

Dear Brian, Kevin, Mareen, and Billy,

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. She was a very strong woman. When you're a kid, you don't understand the strength that some people have. But as the years go on....you understand. She was always very nice and polite to me, and all of Brian's friends.

Maureen & Family, I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am to know Joan passed to the other side. All I can say is WATCH OUT other side..She was besides being a good, warm and caring person, she was quite a character...I loved her and I’ll always have great memories of our car ride days, and her famous Xmas parties. Maureen you ALWAYS were a wonderful daugther to Joan, and I know she'll always have the say, even from the other side. Prayers & heart warmed sympathy to all the family.

Although our lives took different paths after high school, your mother was my very best friend through junior high and high school at Aldrich. We shared many good times together and I have fond memories of that time of our lives. I am sure you have as many happy memories of your mother as I do. My sincrest sympathies to all of you. God Bless you and I will keep her in my prayers.
