Robert Del Gigante Obituary
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marie Del Gigante.
Mr. Del Gigante worked for the City of Cranston for 33 years as a firefighter and later as an arson inspector before retiring with the rank of lieutenant in 1987. He was also a WW-II U.S. Navy Veteran.
Besides his wife, he was the devoted father of Sheila A. Amaral and her husband Anthony Jr. of East Providence, Eric M. Del Gigante of Saratoga Springs, NY and Valerie J. Morgan and her husband Emory Jr. 'Larry' of West Warwick; loving grandfather of Jeffrey, Anthony III, Jillian, Deanna and Molly; and dear brother of Beverly Straffin of Johnston, Norman Del Gigante of Lake Worth, FL and Barbara Tomasso of Cranston.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Cranston St., Cranston at 10:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in RI Veterans Cemetery in Exeter. VISITING HOURS Sunday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Crossroads RI Family Shelter, 754 Broad St., Providence, RI 02907.
