Claire Thibodeau Obituary
Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late James Murphy and Mary H. (Harrington) Murphy, she spent her youth in Somerset, and lived in Tiverton for the past 43 years.
Mrs. Thibodeau's life passion was teaching. A third grade school teacher for the Chace St. School in Somerset for 28 years, she retired in 1996. She was a member of the Circle of Scholars, loved to travel and was an avid reader. She was a graduate of Somerset High School, Class of 1957 and Bridgewater College, 1961. Mrs. Thibodeau was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband: daughter Laura 'Laurie' A. Thibodeau and her partner Elizabeth 'Betty' Cosby of New Bedford, MA, sister Dorothy Deveney of Somerset, MA, daughter-in-law Sharon Thibodeau, granddaughter Erin Thibodeau and several nieces and nephews. She was mother of the late Arthur J. Thibodeau III and sister of the late Joan Whittington and Mary E. Belanger.
Her funeral will be held Monday Aug. 18, 2008 at 9:00 AM in Holy Ghost Church, 316 Judson St. Tiverton, RI. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday 5-8 PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St. Fall River, MA. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Outreach Inc. 502 Bedford St. Fall River, MA 02720. Burial in Pocasset Hill Cemetery Tiverton. www.waring-sullivan.com

Dear Arthur & Laurie,
Please except my Deepest Condolences, We will remember Claire as being a Beautiful neighbor who always had a smile and a warm "hello" for everyone. May she rest in Peace, we will miss her dearly.

Dear Art - I know that Claire is in a better place now, a place without all the pain and suffering that she has lived through these many months. I am just one of a multitude who will miss her smiling face and cheerful demeanor. She was a very special person for anyone who knew her.
