Leona Wnuk Obituary

WNUK, LEONA J. (MARCINIAK), 92, formerly of Providence, died Wednesday at Cortland Place in Greenville. She was the widow of Edward J. Wnuk.

Born in Providence, where she lived most of her life, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Adela (Dombrowski) Marciniak.

She was employed as a mender for 30 years by the former Paragon Worsted Mills and was also an assembler at Bulova Watch. She was a member of the Young Polish People's Association and the St. Adalbert's seniors, but most of all she dedicated her life to raising her sons.

Mrs. Wnuk is survived by her sons, Edward and his wife Carol and Kenneth and his wife Barbara, four grandchildren, and a great grandson. She was also the sister of the late Stephen Marciniak and Wanda Wasilewski.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 9AM from the Hoey-Arpin-Williams-King Funeral, 168 Academy Ave., Providence with a Mass of Christian burial in St. Adalbert Church, Atwells Ave. at 10AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours are Sunday 5-8PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to St. Adalbert Church, 866 Atwells Ave., Providence, RI 02909. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. ARRANGEMENTS BY SUPINSKI & BORRELLI.

Ken and Ed,

I am truly sorry that we were unable to be with you during this time of need. Marie and I found out just recently: but, I want you and your families ( especially, Carol and Barbara) to know that our prayers are with you all. Having lost both our parents during the recent years, we are well aware of the grief that you are experiencing at this time. Rest assured that the memories that you have of your mother will be the strength that will carry you through these difficult time. Love is forever.

Kenny and Eddie...I was sorry to read of your Mother's passing. I haven't seen either of you since our days at Webster Avenue School and I'm not sure if you'll remember me but I do remember both of you well. Again...my condolences to you and your entire family.
