Margaret Orleck Obituary

ORLECK, MARGARET 'PEGGY' (JONES), 67, of Providence was called home to be with our Lord on August 17, 2008. Margaret was surrounded by her loving family through a year of battling a rare cancer. She was the companion of Jim Frazier.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Margaret (Hanley) and the late Austin M. Jones.

Margaret was a bookkeeper for 15 years. She was wonderful with children, working the next 15 years as a nanny impacting the lives of many prominent families in RI. Most recently, she enjoyed her 6 year part-time position as a cocktail server at Lincoln Park. Margaret was formerly married to Henry Godin, Jr. and the late Harvey Orleck.

She is survived by son 'Red' Godin and Pam, daughter Peggy and husband Walter Karbowski, son Vinny Orleck and Marissa and daughters Jacquelyn and Jennifer Orleck. Dearest granddaughter Julie and grandson L. Cpl. Anthony Zanni of USMC. Brother David and Mickey Jones, sister Barbara Gagnon and Virgil, nephews Wayne Gagnon, Michael Jones and nieces Kristen LeTrent and Amy Nadeau. Best friends Dot Fothergill and John Capaldi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Church of the Presentation, 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. All are welcome to attend. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Cremation at a later date with private interment in Highland Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret's memory may be sent to The Miriam Hospital, Fain 3 Oncology Department, 164 Summit Avenue, Providence, RI 02906.
