Mathilda Thomas Obituary

THOMAS, MATHILDA (JAEGLE) 'TILLIE', 90, of St. Elizabeth Way, formerly of Coventry, died Friday, August 22, 2008 at Kent Hospital, Warwick. She was the beloved wife of the late William H. Thomas. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Heinrich and Louise (Burklee) Jaegle.

Mrs. Thomas was a bookkeeper for Atlas Chain Co. for 20 years before retiring. She was a graduate of Bryant-Stratton College, a member of the 1918 Club and a former member of the Business & Professional Womens Club.

She is survived by her loving nephew, Stephen H. Jaegle of West Warwick, and her caring stepchildren, William H. Thomas, Jr. and his wife Beverly of Orleans, MA and Beverly Thomas of Chepachet. Cherished step grandmother of Lynne and Brad Harrison, and Jeffrey and Andrew Thomas. She was the sister of the late William H. Jaegle.

Her funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:00am in Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London Avenue, West Warwick. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday 4-6pm in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to Emanuel Lutheran Church would be appreciated. www.murphyfuneralhomes.org
