To All of Jimmie's Family:
To say I was shocked to see this notice would not begin to say how sorry my wife, Marie, and I are that it had to appear at all.
Jim started me skiing when we first started working as linotype operators together at the PJB in 1963. From that beginning, "we" faked our way into writing the PJB Ski Column for two years, traveling around New England with a couple of other printers, getting free lift tickets when we could.
Our birthdays were 10 days apart, so I called him the older twin. We both switched to reporting when the opportunity arose with the linotype going the way of the horse and buggy.
Jim was also a strong supporter of mine when running for President of our union for 13 years, so if there is anything I can assist you with in that area, please don't hesitate to call me (1-401-5111) or e-mail.
Strange. We generally met every Feb. or March in Smithfield when we had our taxes done.
While we didn't see much of each other in these retirement years, I'm going to miss him very much.
Our Love and Prayers are with you all.

Michael,Sharon,Stephen,Bernie,Millie,
Jimmy was just a great guy and will be sorely missed. Memories are a wonderful thing. Jimmy was the older cousin I looked up to as a kid. I remember the day he left for Korea and the day he returned. What a great smile and his crazy laugh at his jokes. As all our days are getting shorter and being one of the "senior citizens" of the McDonald clan I wish we had all gotten together more often. May God bless Jimmy and all you guys.

Jim gave me my first writing-career break, bringing me into the ProJo as a stringer. I recall late evenings, sitting side-by-side and entering stories on early-version computers ... he taught me a lot, I've always respected him. Sincere condolences.
