Barbara Alexander Obituary

ALEXANDER, BARBARA JEAN, 79, passed away at the Scandinavian Home in Cranston on Friday August 29th.

Barbara Jean was born in Cambridge, MA and was the daughter of the late James and Edith L. (Pilblad) Russell. She was the beloved wife of Herbert R. Alexander Jr.

Barbara Jean was a devoted mother to her three children Laurie J. Burger of Warwick, Holly B. LeBlanc of North Kingstown, James H. Alexander of North Kingstown, and grandmother to eight lovely grandchildren.

Funeral at 9:15 a.m. from the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, RI, Tuesday September 2nd followed by a graveside service at 10 a.m. in the Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery of North Kingstown. Visitation will be Monday September 1st from 5-7 p.m. Information and Condolences at www.carpenterjenks.com.

M.O.T.H.E.R.

M- memories- from Cape Cod to Lake Horace, Christmases, Thanksgivings, many years of memories

O - others - always thinking of others - especially the kids

T - Time and patience - mom was always willing to take the time to help or talk, or make some split pea soup

H - Hand me downs - the things she passed to us kids - like recipes for congo squares and chicken wings, or the Migraines (thanks for those ma) , but most important her value on Family

E - Energy - did you ever see her shop? She could putter in a store for hours.... or bake...and bake..

R - Remembering - to appreciate every day - never forgot a birthday or anniversary card, and I will remember that SMILE

Rest in Peace Ma. We miss you.
