Norman Hadfield Obituary

HADFIELD, NORMAN, 87, formerly of Scrabbletown Road, North Kingstown, died Monday at the home of his daughter Cheryl F. Heuer of Lisbon, CT. He was the husband of the late Frances D. (Addy) Hadfield for 62 years.

Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late George and Gertrude (Schofield) Hadfield.

Mr. Hadfield was a Computer Operator for the Electric Boat division of General Dynamics for over 20 years until his retirement. He served as a Corporal in the Army Air Force Base Unit of The United States Army during WW II.

He was the loving father of Norman Wayne Hadfield of Coventry, Raynola J. Graham of North Kingstown, Cheryl F. Heuer of Lisbon, CT, Pamela A. Burnham of Canton, CT, Candace M. Rush of Coventry, Wendy J. Antonelli of West Warwick, and Keri L. Caires of North Kigstown. Caring brother of Barbara Parrish of North Kingstown, Harry Hadfield of Texas and the late George and Frank Hadfield, Ruth Phillips, and Esther Souther. Cherished grandfather of twenty, great grandfather of thirty-five, and great great grandfather of one.

His Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11:00 am in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Burial, with military honors, will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Wednesday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Hospice Southeastern Connecticut, 227 Dunham St., Norwich, CT 06360 would be appreciated. murphyfuneralhomes.org

This is sad news. The last time we visited with Norman was a lobster dinner on the docks in Wickford Aug 07. We had a wonderful evening. That is a good memory and a good way to remember Norman.

I don't know if you remember back that far but I lived in the house next to the water tower when we all lived in Alton.
I'm so sorry to see that your Dad passed away. I remember him well from all the times I played over at your house. Those were some fun days and I always will fondly remember those times and your family. You have my deepest sympathy and my prayers.
