She was also a member of the Women's Club and the Legion of Mary, and an associate of the Congregation of Notre Dame.

Claire was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy of the Visitation and Rhode Island College of Education (RIC), and served tirelessly for the alumnae associations of both schools. Miss Ducharme was my sister's 6th grade teacher at Lakewood Elementary School. She and my mother, Helena Bostrom, kept in touch until my Mom died in 2006. Mom always called her Claire Veronica. She was a wonderful person and taught values as well as book learning. Sov i Ro, Clair Veronica. Meet with Mom again in heaven.
