Elizabeth Scott Obituary

SCOTT, ELIZABETH GRAVES, 98, of Alexander Ave., died September 11 at the Linn Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late James R. Scott.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth (Robb) Graves. She lived in Providence and Barrington before moving to East Providence.

Betty graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston where she studied voice and piano. She gave recitals in Boston and Providence. She was a soloist for the United Presbyterian Church in Providence.

Betty was past president of the Barrington Womens Club, the Dirt Gardeners and the Pottery and Porcelain Club. She was a member of Central Congregational Church.

She leaves a son, J. Parker Scott and wife Claudia; three grandchildren, Thomas H. Scott and wife Caroline, Steven P. Scott and wife Lucia, Kimberly S. Goyette and husband Daniel; and five great grandchildren, Ryan, Trevor, Shane and Taylor Scott, and Mia Goyette, all of Barrington.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the Linn Health Care Center, Alexander Ave., on Friday, September 19 at 11 a.m. In place of flowers a contribution may be made to Central Congregational Church in Providence.

Mum Scott was very special and remembering her brings back a flood of memories. I especially remember the dances at the Sprague Mansion where she was the elegant hostess. Those days were full of fun and I will remember her that way.
