To all Mr. Bassett's family,
I would like to express my deepest sympathies. It was a great honor to meet and get to know this wonderful man, it was a privlidge to take care of him. I will always think of him when I see the light house light shining, to keep the ships coming home safe. He is now home, and safe. The bright light will be the smile in his eyes, and on his face while speaking of all of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Thank you.

Who was this man who taught me to never classify anyone by race, color or creed;
Who taught me not to judge and to first put myself in the other man’s shoes;
Who taught me right from wrong by his example;
Who was this man who taught me to be tender, kind and true;
To love my country and fellow man; to be devoted to my family; to be hard working and to take pride in what I do.
Who was this man?
This man was my father.
I so love you, Dad, and will sorely miss our Sunday mornings together.
