Francis Feeney Obituary

FEENEY, FRANCIS P., 86, formerly of East Bay Manor, Wampanoag Trail, Riverside and Robin Hood Drive, Riverside, died on September 22, 2008.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Francis P. and Catherine (Healey) Feeney, Sr., he lived in Riverside for 50 years.

Mr. Feeney was the Chief Financial Officer for the American Universal Insurance Co. for 34 years before retiring in 1981.

Francis was a communicant of St. Brendan Church. He was a member of the Wannamoisett Country Club and the Air Force Retirees Association.

Mr. Feeney was a graduate of Providence College Class of 1949. He was a United States Air Force Veteran serving during World War II where he received the Distinguished Flying Cross. He later served in the Air Force Reserves for 20 years.

He is survived by two nephews, William J. Feeney, Jr. of Brighton, MA and Stephen J. Feeney, Jr. of Marblehead, MA; and a niece, Maryellen C. Feeney of Brighton, MA.

His funeral will be held on Friday, September 26, 2008 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours are Thursday 5-7 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Francis's memory to the Providence College Alumni Association, 540 River Avenue, Providence, RI 02918, would be deeply appreciated.
