Richard Costa Obituary
He was born in Providence and was the son of the late Herman and Delores (Lewis) Costa and was the step-son of the late Joseph Lewis. Richard was a custodian in the maintenance department at Brown University, a Marine Corps Veteran during the Vietnam War, a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 4 at St. Brendan Church, and was a coach for AYSO Soccer.
Besides his wife he is survived by two sons George and Brian of Riverside, two brothers Alan Costa of FL, Steven Costa of Attleboro, four sisters Gail Costa, Lynn Carney, Donna Francis, all of Riverside, and Kathy Costa of Providence.
His funeral will be held Friday at 9 AM from the Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Avenue, Riverside with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4-8 PM. Burial with Military Honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visit smithmason.com for information and on-line condolences.

Very Sorry to here about Rick, he was certainly one of a kind and an all around good guy. My thoughts about Rick bring me back to the 70s in Boy Scouts, He was one of the scout masters and I was a just another kid on that old school bus he had, riding up to Rivindale up in westeren RI it was just a fun Camping trip I'll never forget. Rick never seemed to get mad at all us crazy kids and I don't think I ever saw him get mad at anything.
I wish now I stop to talk to him more. again sorry for your loss.
